Gary Smyth is a guitarist whose playing reflects a multitude of styles. Rock’n’Roll led to Blues, Country, Jazz, Western Swing, Rockabilly, Bluegrass and all types of roots music. Live solo performances, rock tours, small intimate venues and cavernous arenas and festivals have stretched his musical talents and work as a studio player have placed him on hundreds of recordings playing guitar, bass, lap steel and mandolin.
He toured with Rick Worrall and his brother Steve in the band Night Madness, and recorded with the great producer Jack Richardson. As lead guitarist with Kelowna’s Cruzeros, he criss-crossed Canada, recorded in Nashville, toured Europe and contributed guitar tracks to the band’s Scandalosa album. Gary is active in the music scene in Kelowna, playing live, teaching and recording.
