Rick has been performing professionally for over thirty five years. He started singing in clubs in Calgary, Alberta, Canada in 1976 as a way of earning extra money. It soon became apparent he was a natural performer. After quitting his day job and concentrating on his music full time, good things started to happen. Rick established himself as one of the strongest performers to emerge on the club scene in quite some time. A Demo of Ricks original songs caught the attention of Attic Records of Toronto, and in 1978 signed a deal with Rick to release two albums. The first Night Madness was released in the spring of 1979 and a second album High Flyin’ was released in 1980. Rick toured with a band extensively to support the albums until 1981. An independent Album titled Just A Child was released in 1983. Lindsey’s Song and You’re The Right One were charted on both Top 40 and Country Radio stations across the country.
In 1984, he teamed with his brother Steve and in 1988, they began recording with producer Jim Gaines in Memphis. The album titled Worrall was finished in the
spring of 1989, and was released in 1991 on the Spy/A&M Label. In The Heat Of The Night the first single from that CD became a Top 20 hit. The CD received extensive air play and international attention, with great reviews in industry magazines such as Kerrang and Metal Hammer. The band “Worrall” successfully toured Europe and North America until 1993. At which time, Rick returned to his solo career. An opportunity for Rick to perform in Europe materialized in the spring of 1994, and it infused him with new energy. After returning home, he met Lance Anderson, a Toronto based musician/producer, and began co-writing material for a new project. When Love Is Right featured great performances by some of the industries best known talents such as Dominic Troiano, Richie Hayward and Colin Linden. The CD was released independently in the fall of 2000 on the Hummer Records Label and internationally on Bumshiva. From 2000 to 2009 Rick performed his theme based shows extensively at Casino’s throughout Canada.
In 2009 Rick returned to one of his first passions, musical theatre, and was cast as Gabriel in Kelowna Actors Studio’s 2009 production Kiss of the Spider Woman.
He since has performed as Saunders in Lend Me a Tenor and as Coach in Viva Musica’s 2009 High School Musical, Judge Turpin in Sweeney Todd , Emile DeBeque in South Pacific, Daddy Warbucks in Annie, Javert in Les Miserables and Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof.
