XL103 Radio together with Geek SOS Services Ltd.  presents Rocky Mountain High – An Evening of John Denver.

Kathleen Morrison – Soprano

In both Canada and Germany, Kathleen is best known for her portrayals of Mozart’s heroines: Die Königin der Nacht Die Zauberflöte “Powerful, sexy, and vocally dominating” (Pause Magazine), Konstanze Die Entführung aus dem Serail “Especially beguiling.” (Berliner1 – Berliner Morgenpost), and Bastienne Bastien und Bastienne “Not only did she have a fantastic voice, with which she stood apart from her colleagues, but she plays her part convincingly with expressive facial expressions and gestures.” (Stadtrand Nachrichten).

Since 2012, Kathleen has been working professionally in Germany, primarily in Berlin. She made her debut with the Club-Theater Berlin, performed for 2 seasons in the smash hit “Breakin’ Mozart” in the historic Wintergarten Varieté, where she sang both high flying arias of Mozart’s Queen of the Night over 80 times in three years, and the Kammeroper Kleinmachnow. In November of 2014, Kathleen had the privilege of performing the role of Marzelline in Beethoven’s freedom opera, Fidelio, where “Through her darker vocal colour and more dramatic attack, Kathleen Morrison’s Marzelline stood out as a more lyric, never soubrette, soprano.” (Live-Kritik). These performances were special because they was part of the official celebrations of the 25th Anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall.

Equally at home on the concert stage, Kathleen is often singled out for her distinct vocal flair and rapport with the audience, “Morrison dealt with wonderful ease the longest vocal part, while also flirting with the audience.” (Neues Deutschland). She has performed as a featured soloist with the Brandenburgisches Konzertorchester Eberswalde, Preussisches Kammerorchester, and the Berliner Oratorium Chor. She recently just returned from an extremely successful 10 city concert tour of China in November of 2017, where she performed for over a combined 1 million people.
